Guggenheim Shelter competition

Project for  “DESIGN IT: SHELTER COMPETITION”  promoted by the GUGGENHEIM  MUSEUM and GOOGLE SKETCH UP.

EMPTINESS

It is a shelter for meditation located in the Montserrat´s mountains, near monastery.

It is a vacuum within the granite rock excavated. Its geometric accuracy contrasts with the morphology of the mountain, around the center space there is a place to work, for the fire, and for sleep. An aperture permits an access, another can to see the sunrise and the last serves as a chimney for the fire.

VACÍO  

Es un refugio para la meditación ubicado en las montañas de Montserrat, cerca del monasterio.

Se trata de un vacío excavado dentro la roca granítica. Su precisión geométrica contrasta con la morfología de la montaña y acoge en torno al espacio central, un lugar para el trabajo, uno para el fuego y otro para el descanso. Una abertura permite acceder, otra ver el amanecer y la última sirve de chimenea para el fuego.
